Our trip to the mountains.

Nelson and I went on a short trip to the mountains recently. We stayed in a three bedroom two bath cabin in Hayesville, North Carolina. The weather was beautiful and it was wonderful to get away for a few days.

Nelson's parents and Aunt Emma met us there. We had lots of fun! One thing that was really fun was playing Nintendo Wii with Nelson's mom and Aunt Emma. They had never played before and had a great time playing. We wound up bowling until 3:00 a.m.

This is me throwing my first ball of the night!

Nelson's mom Janie giving it a try!

Aunt Emma's reaction when she gets a strike!

Nelson and his dad enjoyed a game of pool at a friends home that we visited.

A mountain trip would not be complete without a hike to a waterfall. This is Amicalola Falls it usually has much more water than this and the surroundings are usually green. This has been a dry year so the water flow is slow and since it's winter the trees are still brown.

Time really flies!

I didn't realize it has been a month since I last posted. I know a lot has happended but it's hard to remember exactly what. Most days I work from 8 - 4 and then come home and cook and clean and take care of my adorable grandson Delvy. A few days after my last post he tried rice cereal, as you can see by his expression he was not impressed.

Our John Deere Baby

This was taken a few days ago. You would never know that he had problems keeping food down 8 weeks ago would you? He is growing fast and loves to eat. He is a sweet baby and has a great disposition. He is now 13 weeks old.

This is our family on Christmas Eve 2008. Vickie, Nelson, Barbi, and Art, in the back row and Daniel holding his son Delvy in the front row. Little did we know that we would be at the emergency room with Delvy several hours after this photo was taken. The E.R. sent us home and told us that he had acid reflux but it wound up being "pyloric stenosis" He was unable to keep food down and was dehydrated and going down hill very quickly. Delvy was admitted to the hospital the day after Christmas and had emergency surgery on Monday, December 29th. The surgery went well and he is doing great now.

New to blogging!

I have been following my niece's blog for quite a while and have decided to try my hand at it. It is a neat way to keep up with family that is too far away to visit. I am not sure what I am going to write about but I am hoping that ideas will come easier the more I post.
